Temper Restaurant, London

Taco starters from Temper Restaurant, London
I decided to check out Temper in Soho, London after hearing about a new restaurant that was featuring Tacos and Mezcal. If you're like me, anything mentioning Tacos and Tequila I'm down but Temper actually ended up being much more than that, meat is their specialty. This new, somewhat large restaurant is in the subterranean depths of Soho, a number of restaurants add significant square footage by going underground and one is MASH - another restaurant that takes meat seriously and incidentally host the biggest USA wine selection in the UK. I was surprised to see that despite the PR of Tacos and Mezcal, they had only three Mezcal options on the drinks menu, however they did have a good selection of wines.

Range of cuts and ways of cooking meat, Temper, London

I actually think if you're not a big Mezcal fan you will love the wine options and to be honest I think they are a better match for the main plates that are mostly meat centric. The Tacos were soft corn tortillas as far as I could tell they were genuine - I could taste the unique flavour of masa harina. The tacos were infinitely small, I mean sheeeesh they're small - check out my last pic below, another restaurant I came across this at was The Palomar - I call them miniatures. I actually don't mind this at all because at Temper the main meat plates more than make up for it.

Nachos, typically underwhelming but Temper completely changes that

I would say their Scotch Bonnet Chilli Nachos were extraordinary! I think this comes down to using flavoursome cuts of meat, rather than minced beef. Nachos are typically a very underwhelming fill-in dish and unassuming, nothing even closely compares to the nachos at Temper, if you visit Temper you must put this on your list to try. If you're not used to scotch bonnet, meh. Sorry nothing I can do for you - you have been warned.

Smoked, grilled meat from Temper, London

When you get to the mains meat options you have a choice of Beef, Pork, Lamb and Goat. Each is served on a flat bread. You can pick what portions size you would like, 100g or 200g - we had 200g as pictured above and it was an ample serving for two people to share. The meat was juicy, very smoky too you could tell they were putting time and effort into the flavour and texture of the meats. If you want somewhere special for the man in your life - it definitely lives up to the hype. Even I am excited for the next time I go. It had only just opened when I went in January so service was a little off but this is normal for any new restaurant. It had a great ambience and you will feel very sleek inside.

Le Salon Prive Restaurant, St Margarets Twickenham

Le Salon Prive Restaurant, St Margarets, Twickenham La Salon Prive (The Private Lounge) is actually a newly re-invigorated, and much needed refurbished Brula - a French Bistro restaurant based in St Margaret's, Twickenham for over 15 years. The restaurant went through an ownership change back in January (the former owners having connections with other Richmond restaurants, La Buvette and A Cena, as well as Covent Garden restaurant Joe Allens). The new proprietor happens to be the same owner of a very popular Italian restaurant, Bacco, in Richmond. Bacco is one of my top Italian fine dining eats and here's a  review of Bacco  here. Entrance to Le Salon Prive, Dining Room La Salon have kept the lovely glass stained windows but have totally redone the inside. Formerly the restaurant resembled something similar to your geriatric granny's living room - it might seem charming but it really felt like it had been under-invested, incidentally a similar theme also exist

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Chelsea, London

IT STARTS as soon as you pull up outside Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, the service, that is. Staff are with you every step, at your beck and call, although there's no need to beck or call - they're always one step ahead. It may be disconcerting for some folk but if you've not experienced 3* service before, relax, enjoy it, don't fall into the trap of thinking this type of place is only frequented by fancy folk who think they're the above it all. It's a place where people are celebrating and enjoying themselves. GR has a cosy, simple and relaxed ambience, not an opulent over the top dining room as you'd expect for a 3 Michelin restaurant. It's welcoming. Lightly smoked Goose We arrived in perfect timing for our booking and were greeted with smiles and 'hello's' by numerous staff as we were shown to our table. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few tables already occupied considering our booking was quite early at 6.30pm. We w
