Best Places to Eat in Las Vegas | Good Kai

Best places to eat Las Vegas!
Las Vegas, I haven't met a single person who doesn't love this crazy town and although most folk may refer to Vegas as sin city, they'll be surprised to learn that the town we know it as now was partially funded by a syndicate of Mormon bankers post WWII. Something to think about while you enjoy quaffing down endless free alcohol while the casinos carefully lighten your pockets on the tables or pokie machines.

I'm not much of a gambler but I do appreciate this city. It is so blatantly faux yet whimsical, its over-the-top, yet it feels grander and than anywhere else in the world and the food is on a level we don't get here in London - huge spaces filled to the brim with patrons and atmosphere and fantastic customer service you only get in the USA. So if you're looking for some of the best places to chow down while in Vegas here they are. Also, check out my short Vegas travel video below.

Pancakes - Bacchanal Buffet, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas

Bacchanal Buffet $$$$
Caesars Palace, Las Vegas

They have accolade after accolade, and don't be swayed by the fact that this is buffet. Think of unlimited small plates of food with the very best produce possible. This is the ultimate buffet in Vegas and is definitely a blow-out meal because it's not cheap at $98 per head but this often includes unlimited champagne or mimosa's, wagyu, lobster. There's an Asian food bar and loads of baked to order and all as much as you like. They often have brunches that are much more reasonable too for around $40-$50.

TAO Restaurant, The Venetian, Las Vegas

TAO $$$
The Venetian, Las Vegas

You may have to make a reservation for this one, but I absolutely loved TAO. The oversized buddha, the DJ booth, the music and the atmosphere was fantastic, but more importantly the food is great. Its a playful a mix of Chinese, sushi with incredible soups. If you're in a party mood and want food to celebrate it is definitely a must! I'm a sucker for anything that has crispy rice and they do a jolly good version of it here.

Gordon Ramsay Pub N Grill $$
Caesars Palace

Now my meal here at GR Pub n Grill was complimentary, but regardless of that I have had plenty of complimentary meals that I don't recommend - (some of his London restaurants are mediocre excl. Michelin) but this one was in fact very good. So that definitely comes down to the team running the restaurant and this one in Vegas was excellent. The pie is delicious - I was convinced they wouldn't be able to execute this in any country outside Her Majesty's rule but they did and is definitely a place to go for a hearty meal.

Beautiful dining room Buffet at The Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas

Tacos El Gordo $
3049 S Las Vegas Blvd

The most authentic Tacos you will get in Vegas is from El Gordo's. This place is full of locals and is one of the best cheap eats you can get along the strip just north of the The Wynn Hotel. Its a very basic inside with almost greasy spoon feel to it. Brightly lit with basic outdoor picnic tables but if you've had a hard day gambling and drinking a bit too much its the perfect post drink munch, if you're a true taco die hard like myself - they have a lengua taco (cows tongue) that is fantastic!

TOP TIP!
Walgreens Secret Sushi $
Downstairs at the Venetian

Here's a tip for folk when you tire of eating out all the time (and you will), Walgreens in the Venetian Hotel have a sushi bar inside where they make fresh sushi daily. Pick yourself up some of the best spicy sushi in town to takeaway, its delicious!

The Wynn Hotel $$$
Buffet at the Wynn

If you want a beautiful setting you can always go to the buffet at the Wynn if your celebrating honeymoon or anniversary, we stayed at The Wynn hotel and at Caesars and the buffet was better at Caesars but it is still decent if you want a lovely setting. As far as hotels go however, The Wynn was definitely the best. Thirsty Instagram folk will love it here.

Grand Canyon, South Rim
Like Travel? EXCURSION GRAND CANYON

Also, don't forget that Vegas is not far from the Grand Canyon - we spent a night right on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, most folk helicopter out to the west rim not knowing that the best part of the Canyon is south. I checked the helicopter coys and found the safety records were not good it looks like they maybe compromising safety with the amount of flights they were doing to cover costs - pilot error and companies changing their names to cover their safety issues. Tragically less than a week we had been there one of the helicopters crashed in the west rim canyon killing three British tourists. It happens and there is risk but there are other ways of seeing the canyon too. See our Vegas and Canyon Vid below. We hired a car, walked the hoover dam had a wonderful night staying on the Canyon Rim and walking trails - incredible!
