Summer in London, Pubs, Street Eats and more

Boats on Richmond Riverside, Erdinger from Steins - Richmond Riverside
At the moment I have family visiting from Florida and New Zealand and have been busy out and about in London town, enjoying some street eats and pubs along the way.
I was able to get my hands on the highly rated Bleecker Street Burger - one of the most recommended burger eats in London. I wasn't expecting much as it looks very plain - its obviously an unassuming burger because it was actually delicious. I really can't explain what makes it so special. Maybe its the quality of the meat, the flavour, the condiments, the bun? I don't know, but it tastes incredible. Their fries have an equal occult-like status - I would definitely recommend having these as well. I can't say that it beats the Piggy burger from Bar Boulud but I can understand why folk rave about it and it is definitely one of the top street food burger's I have ever tried.

Also I've been getting busy in the kitchen cooking a favourite New Zealand snack of mussel fritters (battered mussels) and satisfying my craving of pizza - I love a picante pizza from Zizzi every now and again. We've been kicking around West London a bit and checked out a few pubs, and settled at a gem of a place in Hammersmith that has a secret garden with private outdoor huts and an enormous fire pit, this Fullers pub serves excellent food to boot. Recommended drink for pub grub: is Frontier beer.

We're also kicked back for a beer in the sun at our local in Twickenham that serves great pub grub, The Sussex Arms. They specialise in Ales and craft beers with an extensive selection on offer. The Kings Head in Teddington also has excellent food and its no wonder, it is one of the many pubs owned by Michelin chef Raymond Blanc and where I recently enjoyed a lovely sea bream with poached egg.

Summer is a great time in London, the long evenings, warm temperature and plenty of activity in the city makes for fun times. Also, living close to the river and in a borough that is very green makes for a lovely holiday for visitors and residents.

Le Salon Prive Restaurant, St Margarets Twickenham

Le Salon Prive Restaurant, St Margarets, Twickenham La Salon Prive (The Private Lounge) is actually a newly re-invigorated, and much needed refurbished Brula - a French Bistro restaurant based in St Margaret's, Twickenham for over 15 years. The restaurant went through an ownership change back in January (the former owners having connections with other Richmond restaurants, La Buvette and A Cena, as well as Covent Garden restaurant Joe Allens). The new proprietor happens to be the same owner of a very popular Italian restaurant, Bacco, in Richmond. Bacco is one of my top Italian fine dining eats and here's a  review of Bacco  here. Entrance to Le Salon Prive, Dining Room La Salon have kept the lovely glass stained windows but have totally redone the inside. Formerly the restaurant resembled something similar to your geriatric granny's living room - it might seem charming but it really felt like it had been under-invested, incidentally a similar theme also exist

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Chelsea, London

IT STARTS as soon as you pull up outside Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, the service, that is. Staff are with you every step, at your beck and call, although there's no need to beck or call - they're always one step ahead. It may be disconcerting for some folk but if you've not experienced 3* service before, relax, enjoy it, don't fall into the trap of thinking this type of place is only frequented by fancy folk who think they're the above it all. It's a place where people are celebrating and enjoying themselves. GR has a cosy, simple and relaxed ambience, not an opulent over the top dining room as you'd expect for a 3 Michelin restaurant. It's welcoming. Lightly smoked Goose We arrived in perfect timing for our booking and were greeted with smiles and 'hello's' by numerous staff as we were shown to our table. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few tables already occupied considering our booking was quite early at 6.30pm. We w
