Bellissimo Italian Restaurant, Twickenham

Bellissimo, Twickenham
I love the look inside this intimate restaurant which is located not far from Twickenham Station on London road. Bellissimo seemed to have popped up out of nowhere, well it did use to be a cafe, but with little social media presence (this is how I mostly stalk new restaurant info) it was only by chance we stumbled across it one night in Twickersville.

Slow cooked sausage & bean, Mussels with garlic, tomato & bread
The interior is exposed and I mean exposed. You have rustic brickwork and gaping floorboards as a ceiling, long hanging lighting, actually this is very much my kind of rustic style - with comfort of course. It all looks very promising.
The Bellissimo menu is extensive, there are loads of starters - some are Napoli Sausages with beans, beef fillet with truffle oil, two aubergine options, salmon... it goes on. I had the mussels and my PICC (partner in culinary crime) - Chic Geek, ordered the Napoli sausages with beans.

Mussels with tomato & Salad with Parmesan - Bellissimo, Twickenham

Clam Linguine, Bellissimo Italian Twickenham
My mussels were slightly cold - but the sauce was hot, I figure this was just a timing issue and I did have to wrestle a beard off the meat but it was ok overall. The sausage and beans were quite good, it had been over salted (I recall an Italian restaurant in St Margarets over salting their food too) - what is with these Twickenham Italian restaurants and their salt, sheeeez.
Anyway, the great thing about Bellisimo is that their mains are excellent. The portion sizes are generous. The risotto has a nice buttery, earthy flavour and the linguine has a generous portion of clams, well generous if you compare what you get in other eateries.

Risotto Di Mare - Seafood Risotto
The desserts and the wine (we had a Chianti) weren't so good. The brulee was runny under the shell, and my tiramisu was soggy mush - the liquid had soaked right through and turned parts of the sponge into a swamp land. However, its not all bad, the service was excellent and the venue fabulous.
I hope they get better - they have only just started and if they do, I think they have the potential to be one of the top Italian restaurants in Twickenham. If you like Italian  fine dining, my go to place is Bacco in Richmond where portions are a bit more on the delicate side but the standard of food is high - see my review for Bacco.

ps. Get in quick to Bellissimo or it may turn into a place for the stroller Mafioso's.

Le Salon Prive Restaurant, St Margarets Twickenham

Le Salon Prive Restaurant, St Margarets, Twickenham La Salon Prive (The Private Lounge) is actually a newly re-invigorated, and much needed refurbished Brula - a French Bistro restaurant based in St Margaret's, Twickenham for over 15 years. The restaurant went through an ownership change back in January (the former owners having connections with other Richmond restaurants, La Buvette and A Cena, as well as Covent Garden restaurant Joe Allens). The new proprietor happens to be the same owner of a very popular Italian restaurant, Bacco, in Richmond. Bacco is one of my top Italian fine dining eats and here's a  review of Bacco  here. Entrance to Le Salon Prive, Dining Room La Salon have kept the lovely glass stained windows but have totally redone the inside. Formerly the restaurant resembled something similar to your geriatric granny's living room - it might seem charming but it really felt like it had been under-invested, incidentally a similar theme also exist

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Chelsea, London

IT STARTS as soon as you pull up outside Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, the service, that is. Staff are with you every step, at your beck and call, although there's no need to beck or call - they're always one step ahead. It may be disconcerting for some folk but if you've not experienced 3* service before, relax, enjoy it, don't fall into the trap of thinking this type of place is only frequented by fancy folk who think they're the above it all. It's a place where people are celebrating and enjoying themselves. GR has a cosy, simple and relaxed ambience, not an opulent over the top dining room as you'd expect for a 3 Michelin restaurant. It's welcoming. Lightly smoked Goose We arrived in perfect timing for our booking and were greeted with smiles and 'hello's' by numerous staff as we were shown to our table. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few tables already occupied considering our booking was quite early at 6.30pm. We w
